Red Rock Canyon

Yesterday, we reluctantly returned to Las Vegas from Death Valley. It’s time to go home,  but not without one more quick stop. We were looking forward to seeing Red Rock Canyon and it did not disappoint us. The scenery was incredible, so I want to share some of our pictures, even though they really don’t do it justice. The main reason we went was to see the petroglyphs and pictographs made by Native Americans in the area around 3,000 years ago. It was a short walk down the trail, but of course, we got lost and it became a long hike. That was OK, it was good exercise, amirite?

The petroglyphs were fascinating, as were the pictographs below.

We saw some petroglyphs in Colorado neat Mesa Verde. They are fascinating! The urge to communicate must be strong!
